Our techniques

We use the following techniques to meet all your glass and bottle decoration needs.

Digital printing

This very recent technique enables glass or plastic bottles to be decorated in full 360° four-color process, with or without relief.

The object enters the machine, where it receives pre-treatment, a base, the 4 CMYK colors and a protective coating. Between each stage, the object is ” flashé ” to dry the ink. The decorating possibilities are endless.

Screen printing

Silk-screen printing is the most widely used method for decorating glass.

The glass is automatically loaded into the machine and fed underneath the screen-printing screens.

A rubber doctor blade passes the color through the screen fabric and onto the glass wall. The glass is then automatically unloaded onto a conveyor belt.

Ceramic ink (enamel) requires firing in a 30-meter-long kiln at a temperature of around 600°C.

Decal

The transfer technique is used for very small quantities, for designs involving more than 8 colors, or for designs that need to be applied to very complex glass shapes.

It consists of printing the decoration on paper with ceramic ink (enamel) and then hand-applying it to glass. This is the principle of decalcomania.

Once the decorations have been applied, the glass must be fired in a 30-meter-long furnace at a temperature of around 600°C.

Laser

Laser technology makes it possible to “engrave” a decoration or text on the bottom or wall of a glass.

This technology is generally used to maintain the foam of a beer or to make the bubbles of a champagne more visible.

The CO² bubbles hit the “engraving” at the bottom of the glass and rise energetically.

This allows beer foam to last much longer, or champagne bubbles to be much more visible.

This technique can also be used to apply serial numbers or names to a glass or bottle. or names on a glass or bottle to make each glass or bottle unique.

GOLD and PLATINUM edges

We have a machine that automatically applies gold or platinum rims to the rims of glasses.

This machine is positioned at the output of the screen-printing machine, so the edges are applied in-line, enabling us to produce very large runs with little loss of output.

The ink used is approximately 10% real gold or platinum.

Tradyglass is one of the few companies in the world to own such a machine.

Soufflé bouche

Giant glass, special shapes – we can work with you to develop the 1:1 model you want, starting at 300 pieces.

CE GAUGE

We are CE and UKCA approved for gauge marking.

Satin finishing - Lacquering

We can also frost or color-lacquer glasses and bottles, on a case-by-case basis.

Alterglass reusable and unbreakable glass:

For several years now, we have been producing our range of reusable, unbreakable polymer glasses under the ALTERGLASS name.

We’re equipped with a mold shop (MTPM) and can create a new exclusive shape from scratch.

These glasses can be decorated using our no-firing techniques (UV screen printing or digital printing). They can be recycled, reused and washed just like glass.
